Executive Functions influence our student’s performance at school, their emotional responses, personal relationships, social skills and so much more. In essence, they control everything they do.
Students with executive functioning challenges often have a difficult time regulating alertness, initiating tasks, or even sustaining effort.
Others may have a hard time holding on to information previously taught or lack the ability to remember it when necessary. What may be perceived as laziness, lack of effort, or forgetfulness are actually real & challenging executive dysfunctions.
In this webinar, award-winning, ADHD Student & Parenting coach, Leslie Josel will show us that our students rely on their executive functioning skills to help plan for — and respond to — the tasks, challenges, and environment they face. She’ll dive deep into the most critical and misunderstood of the executive functions — working memory and sustaining effort. Leslie will offer REAL practical tips and tools through AGE APPROPRIATE CASE STUDIES so you can help your student strengthen their working memory and effort/focus muscles, including appropriate parent-led language to help with initiation, “boomerang brain syndrome” and focusing weaknesses.
Leslie will highlight the importance of understanding EXECUTIVE AGE and why it is the KEY to understanding your child’s behaviors, and share her tried and true coaching techniques from her over 18 years in the trenches to help you support your student.
